Olive Oil (Olea Europaea)
Olive was probably first cultivated in Crete in around 3500 BC. It is obtained by the cold pressed method. The leaves are used to clean wounds, lower blood pressure, fight diabetes and to improve the function of the circulatory system. It is used to treat Cystitis, Gallstones and lower blood sugar levels. The oil is nourishing and improves the balance of fats within the blood. It also protects the digestive tract, and is used for dry skin. It is an excellent carrier oil used for massage purposes. This oil is digestive, diuretic and anti-inflammatory.

Orange Oil Sweet (Citrus Sineasis) »
This oil is cold pressed from the orange peel, and is imported from the US and Brazil. It has a fruity, sweet scent. It is used for colds, flu, emotional upliftment, fighting stress, as an environmental disinfectant, as a flavouring agent, in chronic bronchitis, antiseptic actions and improvement of general condition. It is used for bathing and inhalation.

Palmrosa Oil (Cymbopogon Martini)
This oil is produced by steam distillation of the tops of the plant, and has a flora-rose grassy scent. It is native to India. It is used for hair and skin care, to stimulate cellular regeneration and moisturize skin, for nervous exhaustion and stress conditions, to calm and uplift.

Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon Cablis)
This oil is distilled from the leaves of plant, and is native to the far east. It is used as a fragrance ingredient, insect repellent, for headaches and fever, in aromatherapy to treat skin complaints, in eczema, for varicose veins and hemorrhoids, in perfumes and soaps, as a massage oil, skin conditioner, for acne, scars, stretch marks and scratches, to improve skin conditioning and scent. It is antiseptic, sedative, aromatic, antidepressant, aphrodisiac, anti-depressant and has prophylactic properties.

Peppermint Oil (Mentha Arvensis)
This oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering herb, and is produced in India. It has a penetrating odour. Peppermint tea helps in indigestion and heart palpitation. It can be used for cough, cold, ulcers, headaches, to increase local blood flow, to stimulate secretion of bile, for alimentary canal pains, in cholera and diarrhoea, nausea, to disguise the taste of unpalatable drugs, in raising internal heat, influenza, hysteria, rheumatism, neuralgia, lumbago, sea-sickness, puerperal fevers, dermatitis, scabies, burns, muscular pains, bronchitis, migraines, insomnia, shock and mental fogginess, dental cures, in many foods and cosmetics, in balms and liniments, to keep away rats. It is an anti-septic, stimulant, anaesthetic, antibacterial, carminative, stomachic, anti-spasmodic and disinfectant.

Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus Officinalis)
The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the stem, leaves and flowering tops. It is native to France, and also distilled in India. It has a clear, fresh and active scent. It is used for memory power, circulation, headaches, hair care, dandruff, paralysed limbs, colds, nervous disorders, infection of throat and lungs, in toiletries. It is a tonic, stimulant, astringent, nervine, anti-inflammatory, carminative., antiseptic, disinfectant, diaphoretic, stomachic, nervine, rubefacient , anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.

Sandalwood Oil (Santalum Album)
Native to eastern India, sandalwood is cultivated in South-East Asia for the extraction of wood and essential oil. It is used in treating genito-urinary conditions such as cystitis and gonorrhea. In India, a paste of the wood is used to soothe rashes and itchy skin. In China, sandalwood is held to be useful for chest and abdominal pain. It is also used in perfumery. It is antiseptic and aromatic.

Sesame Oil (Sesamum Orientale)
The oil is obtained by cold pressing the seed, and is produced in India. It is used for constipation, liver and kidney problems. The seeds are prescribed for problems such as dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and blurred vision. A decoction of the root is used to treat coughs and asthma. The oil is used as a base for cosmetics, and to make ointments. It is digestive, aromatic and antispasmodic.

Tea Tree Oil (Malaleuca Alternifolia )
This oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs, and is native to Australia. It has a fresh, spicy and camphoraceous odour. It is used for respiratory infections, insect bites, in toiletries and perfume industry. It is antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, antibiotic, immune stimulant. It is used for diffusion, bathing and massage.

Thyme Oil (Thymus vulgaris) # !
The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the herb, and it has a fresh, medicinal and herbaceous odour. It is found in the west Mediterranean to the southwest Italy. It is used for lung problems, digestion, intestinal parasites, skin care, insect bites, lice, gum infections, circulation, arthritis, cellulitis, muscular pains, obesity, oedema, coughs and problems of the respiratory, digestive, genito-urinary, immune and nervous systems. It strengthens the mind. Many formulas for mouth washes and vapor rubs contain thymol, one of the constituents found in thyme. It is used as a fragrance component in toiletries, by the food and drink industry. It is anthelmintic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiputrescent, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitussive, antitoxic, aperitif, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, balsamic, cicatrisant, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, fungicidal, hypertensive, nervine, revulsive, rubefacient, parasiticide, disinfectant, stimulant, sudorific, tonic and vermifuge.

Vanilla Oil (Vanilla Planifolia)
The oil is obtained by solvent extraction of the pod. It is used for aromatherapy, to scent candles, freshen potpourri, in soap making, as a massage and bath oil and a perfume body oil. It is also used in creams, body lotions, bath oils, perfumes and in aroma lamps. Vanilla oil is used as a flavoring agent in pharmaceutical products and food. It is used for calming, relaxing, softening anger, frustrations and irritability. It is used as an aphrodisiac.

Vetiver Oil (Vetiveria Zizanoides)
This oil is produced by steam distillation of the roots, and is native to South India. It is used for skin care, muscular aches, circulation, to relieve melancholy and nervous tension, for restful sleep. It is used as a fragrance component and sedative.

Wheat Germ Oil (Triticum Aestivum)
This oil is extracted by cold pressing the germ. It is rich in vitamin E, A, D, proteins, Lecithin, and Squalene. It has preserving and antioxidation properties. It is used for skin care, and as an anti-scarring agent. It is also used in skin care products. It is an excellent massage oil.

Wintergreen Oil (Gaultheria Procumbens) #
This oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves. It is native to Nepal, and also produced in India. It is used for muscular and rheumatic pains, wounds, dog, snake, and insect bites, swellings, ulcers etc… It is used as a flavouring agent in soft drinks. It can be used for bathing.

Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga Odorata)
This oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers, and is native to Indonesia and Philippines. The flowers and oil are sedative and antiseptic. The oil is used to slow an excessively fast heart rate and lower blood pressure. It is useful in treating impotence. The oil is aphrodisiac and aromatic.
