Jasmine Oil is produced mainly in India. India is famous for its Jasmine oil. The bulk of world Jasmine oil exports are majorly from India. Indian soil and climatic conditions are conducive to producing and growing the best Jasmine Grandiflorum plants that yield outstanding quality Jasmine oil. Even the odour profile is by far and undoubtedly the best in the world.

Jasmine is an evergreen, fragile, climbing shrub, that can grow up to 10 meters high and has dark green leaves and small white star-shaped flowers. The flower's fragrance is unique and sweet. Jasmine oil is extracted by the solvent extraction of the flowers. Jasmine oil starts it journey as a 'concrete', which is made by solvent extraction, after which an 'absolute' is obtained from the concrete, by separation with alcohol. The essential oil is then produced off the absolute by steam distillation. Jasmine essential oil has a sweet, exotic and richly floral smell. It is a viscous liquid with a deep brown, with a golden tinge. There are well over 100 constituents found in jasmine oil, but the main chemical components are benzyl acetate, linalool, benzyl alcohol, indole,  benzyl benzoate, cis-jasmone, geraniol, methyl anthranilate and trace amounts of p. cresol, farnesol, cis-3-hexenyl benzoate, eugenol, nerol, ceosol, benzoic acid, benzaldehyde, y-terpineol, nerolidol, isohytol, phytol etc.

This essential oil does more than just smell exquisite - it eases childbirth, sooths coughing and tones and improves skin elasticity, helps to reduce stretch marks and scars, soothes the nerves, effective in post-natal depression and promotes the flow of breast milk, helps with sexual problems such as impotence, premature ejaculation and frigidity, it is also used as an alternative for cancers as well as viral and bacterial infections, has a very beneficial effect on the respiratory system, soothes irritating coughs and helps with hoarseness and laryngitis. It furthermore helps with muscle pain, sprains, and stiff limbs, it tones dry, greasy, irritated and sensitive skin, it is used for treating severe depression, for treating addiction, easing nervousness, to aid in the discomfort of an enlarged prostate gland. Jasmine oil is also used for catarrh, dysmenorrhoea, frigidity, labor pains, uterine disorders and for muscular spasms, and is respected for its aphrodisiac properties.

Jasmine oil produces a feeling of confidence, optimism and euphoria, while revitalizing and restoring energy. It deeply relaxes, and boosts confidence, eases tension and reduces stress. It is sensual. It is used in burners and vaporizers, used as a blended massage oil or in the bath, in perfumery, to scent candles, in soap making, used as a perfume body oil and in making special colognes and deodorants due to its pleasant odour, in making flavored tea, and used for making incence sticks for religious purposes.

The therapeutic properties are analgesic (mild), antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, carminative, cicatrisant, expectorant, galactagogue, parturient, sedative and tonic (uterine).

Jasmine oil blends well with Bergamot, Rose, Sandalwood and all Citrus oils.
